I love fall. It is easily my favorite season. I really don’t get to enjoy the actual feeling of fall, being in Florida and all, but I appreciate all of the things that happen when the season arrives. There is a feeling of change in the air even though it is still 90+ degrees outside.
My numero uno favorite thing about fall is…..drum roll….the smells! Give me all of the apple cider and pumpkin spice candles, soaps and oils!
Bath and Body works candles are a fall staple in my house. Unfortunately for my wallet, I moseyed into the store of great smells and left with a bag of way more candles than any normal person actually needs. The $12 candle sale was going on so totally justified.
I have tried and true scents but there were also several new ones that made their way to my house that am eager to light up!
I’m slightly obsessed with this flannel candle cover.
The ushering in of fall also means that it is officially chili season! Is there anything better in life than a big, warm bowl of chili?! The ability to throw a bunch of uncooked ingredients in a crockpot and come home to the most amazing smells is so satisfying! Pour it over a bed of rice with a side of fresh, french bread….dead.
Fall brings with it the opportunity to break out all of the cute sweaters and boots. Not here in FLA, of course, because I would die of heat stroke, but a girl can dream about cozy sweaters and knee high boots. I recently broke down and bought this Abercrombie & Fitch sweater while it was on sale. I will probably get about 1 day of use out of it but it is so warm and cozy I don’t even care!
I am also on the look out for a soft, old man cardigan so if you have any suggestions for where I could find one that will not make me look too geriatric, send them my way!
My last fall favorite, CANDY CORN! Well, it is technically a favorite but I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love it because it’s delicious and I hate it because I know that it is basically poison. In spite of this, without fail, every year I buy a bag, or 100, and eat my weight in it. I then have to go through a week of detox as I ween myself back off of them. It is a vicious, yearly cycle. One that has continued into 2018. Oh well. I am who I am.
What are your fall favorites?
