Call me nosy, but I am always interested in what other people are buying. When I am at the store, I tend to peak over into other peoples carts and assess their situation. Diapers, Little Debbie snack cakes, a set of dumbbells and dish soap? Whatcha doing with that random assortment of goodies? Observing peoples shopping carts meshes well with my other habit of people watching. Win Win!
I have made a few Amazon purchases over the last several months and thought I would share the random assortment of stuff that I have bought so that those of you who enjoy shopping cart creeping can get your fix today!
I just purchased these for my 4 year old because he is an unstoppable force at the pool and I am always worrying he will slip and fall. We will also be spending a lot of time outdoors this summer so I thought these would fit the bill. They have great traction on the bottom and breathable meth on the top and sides. He also says they a “comfy” so I will take that as a win!
At $19.99, the price was reasonable and it received 4 1/2 stars from other reviewers. I would have purchased one for my daughter but she was being a diva and informed me she did not want any. Of course, when her brother got his pair, the story changed and a melt down ensued…..Arg.
On the topic of water shoes, I also picked up these cuties for my 15 month old. I…am….obsessed!!!! They are so dang cute and fit her little feet perfectly! They fit nicely around the ankle so they don’t slip off and the color is so vibrant. They have a solid sole and are flexible. I measured her feet before ordering and chose her pair based on the size chart recommendation. The only sad thing about these water shoes, is that they only go up to 24 months. I wish they had these for adults because they are everything!
When I was pregnant with my 3rd baby, I decided to treat myself to a Fawn Design diaper bag. The price tag stung (spending more that $10 at a time gives me major anxiety) but I felt that it was a bag that I would use for a long time. Recently I noticed that they partnered with ToteSavvy which is a company that makes organizing inserts for diaper bags. The inserts are gorgeous and match perfectly with the Fawn Design bag but I couldn’t get myself to pull the trigger due to the $54.99 price tag. Enter, Amazon! I found this little insert for $14.99 and while it is not nearly as nice as the ToteSavvy one, it gets the job done. This one is currently not in stock but there were several other options that were along the same lines as this one. I searched “diaper bag insert” and received a plethora of hits.
I took a few pictures of my insert to give a better idea of what what it looks like inside.
This is the insert in the Fawn Design bag. It definately keeps me more organized and I love that I can pull it in and out of the bag. I can leave it with the baby in the church nursery without dealing with the hassle of taking out my wallet, phone etc. #momwin
I purchased this meal planner in January after I made a New Years Resolution to plan meals in an effort to save cash. I was spending way too much money by winging meals because I would buy some food but not have the right ingredients and then go back to the store and somehow spend 10x more than I originally planned. It was a vicious cycle!
It has worked very well for me and I have successfully made our budget stretch by planning our meals each week and buying only whats necessary for each meal. Technically, you don’t have to buy a fancy book to meal plan but the OCD person in me likes the organization that the book gives me and at less than $7 it was an easy add to my cart.
For a price tag of $30ish dollars, I had high hopes for this silk pillowcase. I purchased this pillow as a Christmas present for myself. I had always heard that silk pillow cases were great for your skin and hair so, having just entered my 30’s, I figured there was no time better than the present to start doing my part to keep the wrinkles at bay.
I honestly have no idea whether this pillow has made any difference in the look of my face or hair. It only received 4 out of 5 stars and you have to wash it a certain way, which for me is straight up nonsense. I do not think I would purchase it again.
HONERABLE MENTION: For the record, I did not purchase this Nerf gun tactical vest. My brother did………for work……….he is 27.
Apparently he and his coding buddies have full on nerf wars in between coding sessions or website making or whatever it is that he does. I am not exactly sure but should probably find out. The nerf wars are so serious that he felt the need to purchase this full on tactical vest set complete with skeleton face mask and America neck tie. In truth, I am slightly jealous because a full on nerf war sounds epic but the extra-ness of the jacket made me literally lol when I saw it. Boys will be boys.
